Biography

Matt is engaged in the general practice of law with more than a decade of experience in Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Real Estate, Guardianships, Estate Litigation, Landlord-Tenant Matters, Municipal Court, Civil Litigation and Land Use.

A native of Toms River, New Jersey, Matt graduated from Toms River High School North in 1995 and earned his B.A. from Georgetown University in 1999. While at Georgetown, Matt was a Dean’s List student, a member of the Big East All-Academic Team, an NCAA Division I All-American, and the Captain of the Men’s Track & Field Team.

After graduating from Georgetown, Matt competed at the 2000 United States Olympic Trials for Track & Field in the 800 meters while working for the American Gas Association on Capitol Hill. Matt also worked on a fixed income trading floor for Spear, Leeds & Kellog/The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. as a Series 7 Registered Representative before attending law school.

He earned his J.D. from Rutgers University in 2005 and passed the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bar Exams the same year. Matt is licensed to practice in New Jersey, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

After graduating Law School, Matt clerked for the Honorable Lawrence M. Lawson, A.J.S.C. (retired). Matt then spent three (3) years with Collins, Vella & Casello, LLC focusing on municipal law and land use before joining the Law Offices of Taff & Davies in 2009 which became the Law Offices of Taff, Davies & Kalwinsky in 2018.

Matt currently lives in Toms River with his lovely wife Amy, their two (2) wonderful daughters and a goofy dog named Finley.
